A manufacturing industry involves industrial production meaning, preparation to processing of items, improving old and creating new commodities are the priorities. Musculoskeletal disorder is experienced by the workers of Agro-Industrial Cooperative Inc. a feed manufacturing company, caused by excessive lifting of loads due to poor manual material handling tasks which results to the absenteeism of the workers.
A cross-sectional study was conducted among workers. The workers were selected through purposive sampling within the duration of twenty-four (24) weeks. The main objective of this study is to minimize the risk of injury, over fatigue, and overworked. To achieve the main objective, the researchers used the following assessment tools such as Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) lifting equation.
To address the issue, the researchers were able to apply the engineering and administrative control wherein it resulted to the risk reduction of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s) among the workers. Among these feasible solutions (Methods of Lifting, Prototyping and Job Rotation), having an equipment to help the workers on their lifting task turns out to be the most effective at reducing risk. Overall, it is highly recommended to continue using the equipment for the continuous reduction of MSD to help the workers and the company.

The automotive industry is one the most known sectors in the worldwide market that requires continuous development to discover an enormous ability to adapt to market demands. The Gunma Gohkin Corporation is one of the newly formed automotive organizations in the Philippines. The researchers found out that the company’s inspectors in the final visual inspection process had low productivity, long processing time to complete tasks, and experienced fatigue since non-value-added activities occur during the process.

On the other hand, lean manufacturing tools are used by various automotive industries in today’s competitive world, with the ultimate goal of reducing wastes in a whole process. Hence, the purpose of this study is to identify and demonstrate, how non-value-added activities affect the productivity of the process. Lean tools, time study, and systematic questioning techniques were used to retrieve relevant data from the process.
Actual simulation was conducted to verify and validate the existing situation as well as to propose the results and the effectiveness of lean principles in a systematic manner with the help of a prototype.
Polystyrene is plastic that can be injected, extruded, or blow molded from erethylene and benzine, making it a very helpful and flexible manufacturing material. Most of us acknowledge a type of polystyrene foam packaging for styrofoam. Polystyrene is also used with electrical equipment and other household products as building material. The manufacturing method of polystyrene is the fifth biggest hazardous waste producer. The polystyrene production method contaminates the air and produces big quantities of liquid and solid waste.
According to the National Bureau of Fire Research Standards Center, they recognized 57 chemical by-products released during polystyrene foam combustion. Collected polystyrene cups are not transformed into cups, but into other products, such as filler packing and trays for cafeteria. This implies that to generate more polystyrene cups, more funds will have to be used and more pollution will have to be created.
Recycling is good for the environment, in a sense; we are using old and waste products which are of no use and then converting them into new products. Since we are saving resources and are sending less trash to landfills, it helps in reducing air and water pollution.
StyLine correction tape is a product of AMG Enterprises, a feasibility study of manufacturing correction tape made of recycled polystyrene resin or styrofoam, considering environmental protection.

FACTORS AFFECTING PERCEIVED EFFECTIVENESS OF COVID-19 PREVENTION MEASURES AMONG FILIPINOS DURING ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE IN LUZON PHILIPPINES
Mapua University
Authors: Allyssa Mae M. Castillo | John Allen L. Sia | Louie John L. Salonga | Joshua Adam O. Seneta
The main objective of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the perceived effectiveness of COVID-19 prevention measures during the global pandemic. The researchers integrated Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to evaluate these factors among Filipinos during Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon, Philippines.
Furthermore, results from the study showed that understanding of COVID-19 had significant direct effects on perceived vulnerability and perceived severity. Also, perceived vulnerability and perceived severity had significant indirect effects on intention to follow. Intention to follow had significant direct effects on actual behavior and adapted behavior, which subsequently led to perceived effectiveness. Of note, an understanding of COVID-19 was found to have a significant indirect effect on perceived effectiveness.

This study aims to shed light on employers on what PWDs as frontline employees can bring to their organization through examining the perception, attitude, and purchase intention of customers on food establishments. The researchers used service quality factors as the independent variables which are reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles as a measure to determine the perception, attitude, and purchase intention of customers as the dependent variables. Results of the study showed that reliability, responsiveness, and empathy have a positive relationship with customer perception.
On the other hand, reliability, assurance, and tangibles have a positive relationship with customer attitudes. Furthermore, reliability, responsiveness and tangibles have a positive relationship with customer purchase intention. Overall, food establishments that hire frontline employees with disability displays a positive response on customers perception, attitudes and purchase intention based on the provided service quality of the employees. Therefore, having an employee that has a disability not only provides a good image for the company but also gives disabled persons an opportunity to be employed.

Battery damage is one of the effects of overcharging, and it is one of the main reasons why the battery life of mobile phones depreciates through time. This study primarily aims to produce an automatic switch off power adapter that improves battery life of the mobile phones in the country. Auto Adapter is an adapter used for mobile phones that automatically switches off once the device is fully charged. It is designed and invented to lessen the overcharging and overheating of mobile phones. Furthermore, the proponents aim to lessen the causes of having an inefficient or damaged device, the cost of repairing or buying new devices, and lastly, increase the battery life of the devices.

UTILIZATION OF SNAKE TONGUE PLANT AS AN ALTERNATIVE CLOTH MATERIAL FOR TOTE BAG
Mapua Institute of Technology at Laguna
Authors: Sweetse Jane Arlos | Mel Darryl Dela | Lyra Camille Martinez | Claire Jan Mariel Paramio
The feasibility study aims to make tote bags that can be used by anyone for different purposes. The product is eco-friendly, reusable, and can be a substitute for plastic bags especially when shopping. The bags will be made of one of the toughest houseplants, Snake’s Tongue Plant. Aside from its ability to withstand any weather conditions, it is naturally strong which can make the bags durable. It also has air purification and air-humidifier abilities that helps absorb bad smells. One of the highlights of this study is to make a trendy tote bag that is more durable and environmentally friendly. Also, the tote bags will come in different sizes: small, medium, and large. The target market location of this study is in Sta. Rosa City of Laguna.

Author: Nicole Irish S. Sarmiento
In subcontractor garment enterprises, commitments on the agreed deadlines will both be vital for the focal company and its clients. The case company of the study has been experiencing delays in deliberation of finish sewn units on time for clients due to inadequate calculations for scheduling and inefficiencies of workers caused by idleness due to lack in monitoring and supervision, and unaccounted considerations of absences.
The feasibility study aims to increase the case company enterprise’ workers efficiency using Microsoft Excel Scheduling and Monitoring Program which has contents of the capacity plan for each of the company’s two sites, an automated scheduling and lead time determination by inputting only the date of project start, order quantity, production hours per day, and day-off, for allotment of the absences on workers’ 4Ps attendance. It also contains ready to print job tickets and monitoring form sheets for ease in control and supervision, as well as daily recording sheets for progress monitoring and payroll generation. If it is properly utilized and continuously updated, long run benefits can be attributed not only to the company’s profitability, but also to the systematization of the entire operation
